Foster information

Hi! Here at puppies of socal, we admire anyone that is willing or interested in fostering. At this time, we are only looking for fosters local to Orange County. Specifically close to the city of Irvine as we are based in Lake Forest. Depending on scheduling, we handle pick up and drop off unless we are able to arrange halfway meeting points. We take in about 5-10 puppies a week that will be in need of foster homes. Sometimes we are also able to take in a whole litter, or siblings from a litter. If you are able to house 2 siblings, please let us know as this makes it so much easier on the puppies to not be alone completely.

We would drop off supplies/ everything you will need along with the pup to you. These puppies don’t need walks yet as they are too young, so you can just have them in your home. We will provide a crate / playpen of some sort that you can have the puppy in at night or if you’re running errands or doing stuff around the house and don’t want him/ her peeing anywhere. I will also bring pee pads to replace once the pup has used the bathroom a few times.

On weekends (and some weekdays) we take the puppy’s to puppy parties to potentially get rehomed. So during this time, I pick up the puppies before the parties, and bring the puppy back after I’m done.

We will provide food etc. and you would just need to feed them breakfast and dinner (:

If at any point you absolutely cannot care for the puppy any longer, we will just ask you can give us 24 hours to find a new foster family.

The puppies won’t have all of their shots, so we ask you keep the puppies inside your home and to not bring them anywhere else unless I have recommended it based on how many shots they have had. (Some puppies come with 1 round, some puppies come with all 3 rounds.)

We also ask you send us lots of photos and videos while having the puppy (or puppies) so we can post on our social media pages to help the puppy find a home!(:

This is a fun job, the first night can be hard with a new pup. But they adapt very fast and are the best therapy.

If this all sounds like a good fit for you or your family, please move forward with submitting an application!
